CP: Tell us some method to write? Some special motivation?
FS: For the pleasure. When I begin to write, if the text resists me, if I get tired or the work taxes, I leave it. That is to say, I write while I feel comfortable. As soon as the pleasure becomes a work, it is abandoned. I think that all work that one does by obligation is disagreeable. And Literature should be undertaken with liking. And I do not want it to be disagreeable. It is what I always say: if one writes suffering, that suffering transmits to the reader. If it cost too many brain cells to write, the work transmits that stupidity. And when the reader is hopeless of boredom, it is because first the author became bored.
