EOTW Questionnaire:
M.K. : The question is, who do you hope will read your writing?
CT Brandon: Writing for me is first and foremost my own creative outlet. I am very grateful when someone finds as much enjoyment out of one of my stories as I do. However, some of my favorites are things I have yet to release to anyone. I am my first audience, and the only one I really must please. Once I stop writing for me, it's time to move on.
What reaction, if any, do you hope to invoke?
Anything from tears to laughter, a quick shrug of the shoulders to a thought that haunts the readers dreams for weeks. Any reaction is a good one for me, no question.
Do your expectations of the reader change with each piece?
No. The audience once again is me, as long as I write for me, I'm happy.
Do you care what the reader thinks, or how the reader reacts, or not?
Not really. I don't like useless comments or personal attacks. If the story was terrible, let me know. But don't tell me what a worthless SOB i am because of it.
Do you write to influence the reader? (To make the reader 'think' isn't enough of an answer.)
I write to create thoughts, present alternatives, and cause large amounts of ponderings.
What are your thoughts? Be specific please.
Write and enjoy yourself. Don't try to please everyone. Nobody has ever been able to do that. Take the time to revise work and be patient with it.
