Hidden meanings are as much created by the reader as they are created by the writer. Consider how many other ways you can interpret "closing
time". It's a metaphore for all kinds of changes in life, not just popping from mothers. How about death? College students might even find it a
metaphore for the end of schooling and the beginning of a career.
