Finished this a few weeks ago. Will endeavor to post Franklin's 13 articles of personal conduct. They are pretty amazing.

Franklin and the kite.

Let's see. Franklin was very interested in electricity as it was described form European literature. Odd thing, it was considered a pseudo-science. I recall that the word was something akin to 'pscycho-therapy'. Electricity was considered phsycotrophic at that time. Don't quote me though.

Franklin used the Scientific Method to publish his short findings. It was sent to Europe as a friendly exchange between scholar friends. The English published Franklin (perhaps universtiy boys or professor). This greatly angered the ranking snobs who held a diferent view point on the nature of electricity. They were using glass jars with gas and Franklin invented his own capsule to reserarch. YET THE EVIDENCE WAS OVERWHELMING in favor of Franklin. And once again the Yankees made their mark.

Now the kite thing was purposeful. Apparently, Franklin didn't give it much credence at the time. He was merely proving cloud static with the logic of someone that works with metal all day. (He owned or helped printers and presses all his life). 'So how does someone get metal up to the heavens?'

Voila, the kite experiment. By Franklin's account it was romanticised in his own time. In his own time, Electricity was not very advanced. He glossed over the story only to mention that it was what any rational inquiring person would do.

And this from a man who worries about his own vanity (as the worst vice for himself).

Still have to look for that code of conduct. Will update as able.

find anything? I would hate to got back and reread the whole thing... but maybe I will. It was a dry read at times but some substantial ideas from Franklin's own hand.
